Pro Medicus Secures $10M Imaging Deal with Leading German Medical Institutions
Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) has announced that its European subsidiary, Visage Imaging GmbH, has signed a five-year, A$10 million Enterprise PACS agreement with University Hospital Heidelberg (UKHD), the German Cancer Research Institute (DKFZ), and associated hospitals Thoraxklinik Heidelberg and KKH Bergstrasse.
The partnership brings the Visage 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform to one of Europe’s most prestigious medical and research hubs. UKHD, one of Germany’s largest academic medical centres, operates more than 2,600 beds and employs around 14,000 staff, while DKFZ is the nation’s largest biomedical research institute, with over 3,400 employees and 1,490 scientists. Together, these institutions form the core of Europe’s leading centres for cancer research, teaching, and clinical care.
The Visage 7 platform offers ultrafast, highly scalable imaging capabilities that allow seamless access to vast medical imaging datasets across institutions and specialties. The system consolidates legacy platforms, improves workflow efficiency, and equips clinicians and researchers with powerful tools for complex diagnostics and translational research.
UKHD’s Chief Information Officer Oliver Reinhard said the new platform will provide clinicians with cutting-edge diagnostic tools and enable researchers to collaborate and access imaging data at scale — crucial for rapidly translating discoveries into patient outcomes.
Malte Westerhoff, PhD, Chief Technology Officer of Visage Imaging, said the deal underscores Visage’s strength in delivering enterprise-level imaging performance and research functionality for leading academic institutions.
This agreement reinforces Pro Medicus’ position as a global leader in advanced enterprise imaging, expanding its European footprint and supporting the digital transformation of world-class medical and research facilities.
